Whitner’s — A Family Business Since 2009
We are a family-owned and operated restaurant that opened in the spring of 2009 with a simple vision: Serve delicious, homemade food while providing excellent customer service. Through hard work we built up our reputation and in 2011 the Food Network took notice. We were privileged to be featured on an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives with Guy Fieri that fall and we haven’t slowed down since! Everyday our small and dedicated staff starts bright and early to bring great ‘cue to Hampton Roads.
“Oh and about that delicious food, when we say “homemade” we mean it! We smoke all of our meat in house using hickory wood and a J&R Smoker. Fresh pork butts and briskets go in each and every night for the following day while ribs, chicken, and friends go in during business hours. We start all of our sides from scratch, not to mention all of our sauces (tangy with just the right amount of sweet!) and rubs as well. Between mixing potato salad a few times a week, chopping collard greens, stirring gallons of our sweet sauce, and smoking everything in-house our kitchen never stops – so you should Get In Here And Eat!”
